I have been using VideoStudio 9 for several years with no issues, and I recently bought a new DVD-dual layer burner so I could make longer videos, but have been unable to get it to work properly. I have downloaded the patch off Corel website for the dual-layer capability. The discs seem to burn fine with no errors during processing, but when I try to play them they play for 30 seconds and then stop. Also, none of the chapters work (because the video cuts out after only 30 seconds). I was able to burn a dual-layer disc of pictures with no problems, so the burner is working properly. The only thing that hasn't worked with the dual-layer burning is VideoStudio 9. I changed the disc preferences to -8.5 as well and the program is acknowledging the dual layer disc because it shows that on the final burn menu, but it's still not burning properly. Are there more patches or updates that need downloaded? Are there certain discs that don't work with VideoStudio (I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL)?

Just output your final product to your hard drive then burn with ImgBurn.

I tried the IMGburn method and got the same results - during the verify process it gave me an error - "failed to verify vectors" and "total errors in sector: 2" - I'm not familiar with this program so I'm not sure what that means??

From what I can see, the patch/update for VideoStudio 9 is only for dvd -R disks.

But the imgburn method should work unless Ulead specifically marks the layer-break for -R disks.

This product is quite old now and it may be better to test the current version (free try-before-you-buy trial). Any issues that manifested themselves in this version could well have been subsequently solved in later ones.

Consider an upgrade to VS Pro 3. Many improvements. I never burn with VS. I use other software-Imageburn or Tmpgenc
