VCD video is DVD compliant. The audio is not. Don't waste time re-encoding the video.

TDA will up-sample the audio to compliance. You can then change the delay to bring the audio back into sync.

I have had many problems trying to put VCD on DVD. There almost always is something wrong with the video. SVCD2DVDMPG (this is a freeware program I recently found out about) might be able to help you.

Use ISOBuster or UltraISO. If the VCD is scratched, occasionally, ISOBuster may seem to hang but it continues working.

ISOPuzzle is also worth a look as a free alternative to the above mentioned tools.

What is your problem? Is that you can't author a DVD using MPEG-1? Or is it that you can't copy the DAT files off the VCD without problems? I gave you a possible solution for authoring problems. Both mgh and guns1inger gave you a possible solution for DAT file copying problems. I'm not sure which problem you have because your post is vague, but hopefully between their suggestions and mine you will be able to fix it.

There's no cure for being stupid. diginode - I told you a way to author the DVD that doesn't involve TMPGenc. Either pay attention to what we say when we take the time to help you or go away. I'm not going to reply to any more of your messages if you are going to ignore what we do to try to help you.
