  1. I just bought the LG GSA-4040B. Firmware updated to A301. Burn DVD-R & -RW no with problems. Had one success with DVD+RW but no go for DVD+R. I have tried 3 times now and everytime a coaster. I know the files are correct as I burned them on a DVD-R and they work fine. I use DVD De-crypter for ripping in file mode, DVD clone to convert files to 1 disk size and Nero 6.0.0.0 for burning. I have a Elta 8882 which plays just about anything and people have said it has no problem playing DVD+R (it plays DVD+RW). Also, just tried to burn one with DVD Clone and still no-go.
    Anyone have an idea................................

  2. Can you be more specific ? What's exactly the problem with the DVD+R
disks you burnt ? Are they totally unreadable or is it just the end
of the movie that you can't play ? You said you had trouble
reading them on a standalone player, but can you read them on the PC ?

  3. They are not readable on my player as well as both of my computers. As I have said, the same files have been burned on DVD-R & -RW with no problems. I'm going to +RW again and a Phillips +R ( the other +R media were TDK, EMTEC and Sony). I guess I will have to keep trying different authoring programs and media. If the discs were not readable on my player but were OK on the computer I know it would be a player problem. When the +R are burned with Nero it says that it was successful (each disk is verified as well). I hope that helps.

  4. Now that I come to think of it ... I remember reading somewhere that
the early versions of Nero 6 had problems burning some types of
DVDs (I can't remember if it was DVD+R disks). The disks weren't
finalized properly or something like that.

I suggest you try the following: Try creating a correct iso image from the
VIDEO_TS directory using ImgTools Classics (it's free). Then, try
burning the iso image to a DVD+R disk using the iso-write mode in
DVD decrypter (this tool is also free).

If it works, then you definitely have to upgrade your Nero to the last
    version.
