  1. Does anyone have an experience with the GoVideo DVD Recorder, R6530. I'm trying to choose between that DVD recorder and a comparable Panasonic. The Panasonic uses DVD-RAM media which might be a drawback. However, I'm not sure about the qualify of the GoVideo R6530. Can't find any reviews on it.

  2. recently bought Go Video R6530, it's a decent machine for copying VHS tapes

1 and 2 hour mode, picture is pretty good, 3, 4 and 6 hr modes pic deteriorates noticeably.......VHS tapes copied to DVD+RW in 2 hr mode look exactly like the original, using the video inputs and outputs

the 75 ohm TV tuner input and ouput is weak in my opinion, so it's not that good for recording from TV or cable

DVD+RW discs I've made play on my Samsung DVD player with no problems

Remote is a little flimsy, and the Timer Programming is really a pain to use

warranty is only 90 days parts, one year labor

Panasonic only records to DVD-RAM and DVD-R, DVD-RAM discs do not play on home DVD players, DVD-RAM discs are like $10

Go Video +RW discs, can be edited right on the machine, erase titles or segments you recorded, and you can use different record speeds on the same disc

I have some reservations about picture quality, but I bought this machine at J & R Music World for $349, 30 days to send it back if I don't like it

if U just want to copy VHS tapes, the Go Video is OK, but if you are a TV fanatic, I would consider a Panasonic or other brand with the built in hard drive

The Go Video is pretty easy to use, but I wouldn't buy one to replace a VCR - I think a TIVO or DVD recorder with a hard drive is probably better

I haven't decided yet whether or not I'm keeping this machine, because for whatever reason, the discs aren't compatible with my computers

    good luck !
