  1. Using the Component capture from the ATI TV 7.5 audio is there when capturing, but when I play back the .mp2 file I have no audio. I can't find any options for sound capture in the ATI TV settings, so I'm not sure where the audio went, or if it was ever captured.

Internal audio cable attached form ATI 8500DV to TAD in on SB Live.

    Any ideas?

LordSmurf.com is under construction. I knew I should have printed that guide.

  2. Re-run the initialization wizard (setup->display_initialization wizard), and make sure the audio cable is properly connected.

Also, is there a reason why you're still using MMC 7.5 ? That version had many issues that were fixed in 7.6/7.7.
The best MMC versions are 7.7 and 8.1+

Yepo, I'm down for about a week. No e-mail, no site, no nothing.
But you'll like it when it fully comes up.

  4. I had similar issues / problems with my ATI Radeon AIW.
I now own a Canopus ADVC-100 and love it.
The problem you describe happened to me often. I thought at the time it was the ULEAD s/w that came bundled with the AIW.
I had to keep the Audio Out from the AIW connected to the AUX input of my sound card. It looks like you are doing something comparable.
I also found that I needed to go into the control panel's Sound set-up and under the Options pull down, select Preferences and then click on the Recording button. It varies a bit depending on your OS. But there are boxes to check for different sources. I don't remember which one I needed to select, but after experimenting I found that one worked and the sound was captured properly.
What was very frustrating is that often - maybe because I re-booted - who knows - the setting would default and my capture would be missing sound again. But like you said, the sound is perfectly audible out of the speakers - yet no capture.
    With the ADVC-100, I haven't missed a beat or a frame!
    Good Luck
