  1. Hey guys, what is a GOOD WORKING, RELIABLE program for me to convert my .wma music files to the mp3 format. I went to Wal-Mart's website and downloaded an album off there. I wanted to get it to mp3 format so that when I burn the album to CD-R, every song on it would be in mp3 format.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

  3. Advanced WMA Workshop? I haven't used it in awhile, but they still have a free demo.

Windows Media Encoder 9 can decode WMA into WAV, letting you encode using your MP3 encoder of choice.

I was always concerned about transcoding/recoding from one compressed format directly into another. I always seemed to get slightly better results going into WAV first.

  4. how?

wmp encoder 9 only lets you decode from other formats into wma format.

I see no option for decoding from wma to wav.

    Am I missing something?

dbPowerAmp, will convert this formats and tons more into any format you desire, as well as download them to virtually any MP3 player on the market

All in one free program, to get access to the DSP effects you need to register, but conversion is free

Its fast, and constantly updated, with new features and plug-ins to format other formats

I use this over BeSweet for converting WAV, MP2, MP3, to each other and use the normalize DSP effect to boost crap soundtracks to be able to hear them again, with any clipping

Will also easily and very quickly convert MP3 to lower/higher bitrates
