  1. I would prefer an in-dash but I am really okay with anything. I dont want to buy one and then have to guess whether it plays it or not. I really appreciate any input on this.
Also if anyone knows of a great mobile headrest system I would love to hear reviews.

    My player does.It's a mpx Cannes (www.mpx-player.com).
It plays even mpeg on ISO and jpegs.Comes with Car adapter (12V).
But not in-dash.Size is like a thick Discman.

  4. If you are desperate, I can offer some suggestions but cannot speak from personal experience. First I would make sure that I tried multiple authoring programs and/or burning programs to make sure that this is not the source of the problem. I will assume that the DVD+R disk play in your home DVD player. Next, I would also try some different name brands of DVD+R disks. If this did not work, I would try DVD+RW. It probably will not work either, but it is worth a shot. Also I would check with the manufactures to see if a firmware update is available for either the DVD player or DVD burner as well. If none of the above options worked then you can try one of the two methods.

First, you can try to see if the unit will play DVD-R disks. You can do this by borrowing one from a friend or getting an external unit from a local store along with some DVD-R disks. If the store does not charge restocking fees then you can return the drive afterwards. If it will, then you may want to consider keeping the drive or investing in either a DVD-R/RW drive or a new multiformat DVD+/-R/RW drive.

Second, you could get another mobile DVD player. If you have a high end car video and audio shop in town, they should let you test your disks in the player before purchasing. A unit that is reported to work with DVD+R and DVD-R by two forum members is the Pyle PLDVD92. I would probably only go this route if DVD-R did not work either since it would probably involve more work to your vehicle and inconvience. Also being able to burn to DVD-R as well is an added plus. With multiformat DVD burners just above $100, I would probably buy one of these if the unit played DVD-R.
