  1. I have copied movie dvds from the shop using tdk dvd-r and they turned out fine with max speed.

I then copied dvd movies with Go Tech brand and I did the same speed, and even at 4x speed, yet during parts of the movie, it becomes glitchy and sometimes freezes. Especially at the start of the dvd-r.

Would it be the brand of dvd-r/incompatability of dvd player?

Can anyone recommend other top brand dvd-r's, are princo one of the best brands?

Your last question tells me you have not read through many posts that discuss brands. :c) It's always good to read before you buy. Read any recent posts (especially in Media) Forum as Princos are mentioned often.

You can do more detective work by looking up your Player and disc type/brand in the Brown sections on the left to see what works best/worst for others that own the same as you. Use those recommendations when you make your next disc purchases.

  3. Try using something like Liteon KProbe to test the read performance of your burned discs. Compare the TDK to the one that freezes in your player. This should make it clear if the media is to blame.

    Greetings,

Indeed, go read lordsmurf.com section (Like he said). I had so many problems with media and he answered all my problems...hehe. Cheap bad media or discutable quality is not the way to go. I now use exclusively RITEK and all my problems went away.

    Thank you

No, Princo is some of the worst media in existance, thats why they are so cheap. Also stay away from CMC. Stick with Maxell, TDK, and Ritek type brands.
