New To Burning DVD's

Just bought first DVd burner.
If I don't have a DVD rom,are most of the DVd ripping/burning softwares designed so that you can play and burn using the same DVD-RW ?

I bought DVDXCOPY....does that do it?

i believe it does. but you might want to do something else before you actually use it...TAKE IT BACK TO THE STORE FOR A REFUND.
many freeware progs equal to, or better than Xcopy...

DVD Decrypter
DVD Shrink
IMGTools
IFOEdit
VOBEdit

and you don't need all of them. matter of fact if you only wanted one prog (don'r know why since they are all very small in size and free) Shrink will do it all but burn. that you already have with your burner purchase. if not there are couple of free burning progs as well under the TOOLS section. or just get the first 3 and you'll have a complete system. good luck.
