  1. Hi All,
I have this AVI and I would like to view it. I double click on the file and then it plays the first 12 seconds and then the picture freezes on one frame but the audio continues. I use the progress bar thingy and fast forward but the frame does not change but the audio continues. I haveplayed in both Media player and DivX player.
I was just wondering if it is possible to rescue any of the file. I have tried DivFix but the same still occurs.
Is there a program that will skip the bad frame and carry on (that is if there is any other frames after this one.)
Any help on this would be really good.
    Thank you for your time.

  2. This sounds a lot like you have a file encoded with a newer version of DivX5 than you have installed.

It happened to me & confused the hell out of me until I realised a newer version of DivX5 had been released.

Install the newest (stable) version, and try again.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

  3. Agree with Druid. I had a beta version of Divx and it did the same thing, just download and install the newest Divx codec off the Tools section of this site.

  4. Would this still solve the problem if I use Windows Media Player. I understand the Media player uses the DivX codec. I will give it a try. Thanks for your help.

  5. It should do PaulDiston - I never use the DivX Player.

That is assuming that the older version of the codec is your problem - but it does sound like it.

    cheers,
