  1. I heard about this media player for the ps2 on this board ( http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/238164.asp ) and was wondering if you could answer a question, it looks like it plays all divx and xvid files but i was wondering if this is only streamed through the computer or if i can but a data disc (on cd-r) in the ps2 and it will play with this software.

    Thanks for the help

I dont really understand your question but I'll try to answer.

If it plays on your computer it will play on your ps2 you need a network adaptor and other stuff the ps2 its just a go between for your computer and TV. Sticking VCDs or divx disks in the ps2 wont work with this but it will play the mpeg1,mpeg2,avi,mov.......divx files on your computer and show them on the TV (or you can run the disk on your computer if its not a file that is on your computer.)

There is a Divx mediaplayer CD for the PS2 that will allow you to do something similar, but you need a bootdisk or modchip to make it work.
    VCD CD-r's cant be played on a ps2 but DIVX/XVID CD-R's can
