    I expected it to be under the "Make Disc" option on the last screen, but it wasn't there.

    Also, I see I have LPCM available. Is that the same as PCM?

    Thanks for any info.

  2. bek - file/optimize, which is the same as the optimize button when you are 'making disc' will show you the options for audio (e.g. AC3)...

    Hmmm... I don't think I have a "File" menu item in DVD Workshop. At the top, I have a menu that looks like this:

    Start> Capture> Edit> Menu> Finish

    And on the Finish page, I have more options that look like this:

    Make Disc
    Burn from Disc Image
    Save
    Save As

    But no File. Are we talking about the same package?

    Thanks,
    Brian

  4. Daves had obviously his mind on DVD architect; anyway
    1)Ac3 has no connection with PCM-wav.
    2) Ulead offers two updates for download (which you may already have):
    Ulead DVD Workshop 1.3 Update Patch (16MB) and Ulead DVD Workshop 1.3 AC-3 Power Pack Update Patch.

  5. To access AC-3 encoding, you need to have the AC-3 version of Ulead DVD Workshop.

    1. Click MAKE DISC;

    2. Click CUSTOMIZE;

    3. Click the COMPRESSION tab;

    4. Click the AUDIO FORMAT drop-down list arrow;

    5. Choose AC-3 AUDIO.

    Jerry,

    Thank you for that clear answer! I don't have AC-3 as an option (I do have LPCM and MPEG audio options). However, my About screen says "ULead AC-3 PowerPack 1.0"

    I am confused... I think I should have AC-3.... weird. Any ideas?

    One last quick question.... is LPCM the same as PCM? I've never heard of LPCM before now.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    bek: I had the same problem. You have to edit the ini file that is in "Documents and Settings/user/... something... Ulead"(sorry I'm not in front of my pc.... should be application data...

    Anyways, edit the ini file, change the relevant options to "1" instead of "0" and now the ac3 option will appear in "make disc" ... at least it did for me.

    Cheers.

    LPCM means "Linear Pulse Code Modulated."

    (Yes - it's the same as PCM.)

    If you have installed the AC-3 PowerPack and the AC-3 option does not appear, then I would suggest uninstalling and re-installing.

    Something apparently didn't install correctly.

    Hope this helps,
