  1. I have a DVD that i am backing up and am using DVD Decrypter to try and do this.

I have selected in the tools 'movie only' as i want to get this on one DVD-R without losing quaility.

The DVD rips fine to my hard drive, or at least it seems to?

Thing is i cannot burn it back off as Nero which i am using tells me there are errors. I haven't actually got the text that it gives me in the errors but its not good....

I was assuming this was an easy task but i am mistaken, or maybe it is and i'm missing it?

I know you can use dvdshrink and DVD2ONE and DVDcopy.........

So saying "use one of these is cool" ....... but is there a way with DVD Decrypter.

If the other software is that much easier then let me know.

    Many thanks in advance.....

You rip may be too big to fit on one DVD±R. You will then have to use DVD Shrink. Why not try it anyway?

  3. once the 'movie only' has been ripped by dvd dycrypter the file will fit onto a DVD-R.

I'm not keen on using dvdshink to compress the files and lose quality when there is no need.

DVD Dycrypter does not seem able to burn back the files that it rips?

Also is the another program other than Windvd that i can test my VIDEO_TS with my files in, in?

Windvd absolutly sent my PC into chaos, to the point where i had to reboot my whole system......... so staying away from it!!!

    many thanks.......

  5. you cant rip a dvddecrypter movie only and then just use nero to burn it to DVDR. When you rip movie only, you "mess up" the dvd structure and you need an application to redo the structure.

hard way (comparing to easy way) - use ifoedit or other application to rebuild the dvd structure

easy way - use dvdshrink to rip and build the dvd structure so you can burn it onto dvdr

you do know that dvdshrink doesnt always compress video. Basically, if your dvd needs to be compressed, dvddecrypter wont do it. If you can do the movie only, remove certain audio and languages and beginning/ending credits, you may not lose any quality.
