Gday from Oz
This may be bleeding obvious to some but...
When I capture DV thru to iMovie, timecode and datecode are not visible in the view window, neither are they visible when I burn to SVCD/VCD but when I replay my captured DV back to the camera it is visible. what gives? I would really like datecode in my finished edits.

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear. Timecode/datecode are visible in the camera view window but not in the iMovie view window. Date/Time are visible on the camera but not in iMovie, and if I import a movie and play it back to the camera, date/time is visible on the camera but still not in iMovie!!!????
