  1. I converted an .AVI with .ac3 audio to mpeg-1 (for vcd). I extracted audio first using virtdub, saved as .WAV, then renamed it to .ac3. Loaded the file into HeadAC3he 0.23 and converted it to 44100 khz PCM .WAV. Loaded the video and audio into TMPGEnc 2.5, encoded fine....plays fine on my pc....burned it to cd-rw, tried it in my DVD player, and the audio is choppy from the start. I had just made another vcd earlier that didn't use AC3 in the source, and it plays great on my dvd player, so what could the prob be? Any ideas? Thx!

PS.... the original source file is also XVID.....

  2. Problem solved.....I was using the "fit on one cd" template I created in TMPGEnc, and then using the "auto setting". This auto setting set the bitrate to over 1700, thus too high for a vcd. When I lowered the bitrate to 1150, it works fine on my standalone. The audio is fine now. Thx, Soapy.
