    Hello

I just replaced my frist DVD burner with a new model ... the NEC ND-1300A

Using DVDINFOPro I ran the CD/DVD READ ERROR TEST on the first 4 or 5 DVD-R discs that I burned. All were reported to have 0 (as in ZERO) errors.

I burned a DVD last night and toward the very end of the scan it started to come back with A LOT of errors. It was around 1,800 or so.

I just burned another DVD and once again it is returning ERRORS and once again this is near the very end of the scan.

So ... how many READ ERRORS are acceptable? How big a problem is it to have READ ERRORS at all?

Also since this happens at the end of the scan I assume this is near the end of the disc (near the outside edge) so if I burn less to the disc so that I don't fill it up as much (stay further away from the edge) will my chances of having read errors be reduced?

I've heard often about having read errors near the end (near the outside edge) of the disc but so far I've been keeping my burns at 4350MB (which is aobut 4.24GB) and this worked until only recently.

Could I just be unlucky with my media? However some have worked at 4350MB with no errors while these last two are giving errors. Same brand and make of DVD-R from the same 25-pack batch!

    I'm using the so-called 1x-4x Certified BeAll DVD-R discs which I got from MERITLINE.COM
