  1. What is the best program (preferrable Freeware) for converting mpeg2 to mpeg1 files?

    Also Nero Mpeg2 plugins don't work for me for some reason.

    TMPGEnc.
    To enable TMPGEnc to read mpeg2, you can use the mpeg plugin, or have PowerDVD (trial version works nicely) installed.
