  1. I posted Oct 5 about re authoring DVDs. I received some advice that I don't need to rip the DVD. Baldrick wrote "And you don't have to rip dvdrs....just copy the video_ts folder to your hd." I just tried that, drag and drop the video_ts file to the hard drive but it tells me it will take about 50 minutes. That's about how long it would take to rip. falberni wrote "I think if you got DVD-R and it's not decrypted, you don't need to rip. Just use Windows explorer and drag and drop the VOB files off of the DVD media to anywhere you want" If I drag the VOB files it estimates about 30 minutes. Why the difference? Are the VOB fuiles all I need? Is there an advantage to dragging the whole ts folder? As you might guess I'm new to this.

  2. Actually all you need is the content of the VIDEO_TS folder.
To burn again you need ta folder called VIDEO_TS on your DVD which Nero makes anyway in DVD video mode.

Windows time estimates are everything but acurate.
Copying directly from explorer or using DVDdecrypter may have a time difference - I don't know - maybe decrypter uses a different read format to explorer.
I would just use DVD decrypter myself.
