So do you have a morning routine you follow strictly?

I generally follow the same pattern - get up, clean up, eat, go to work.

Not much variety. Of course I sleep in on the weekends. Do you change anything in the weekdays? Do you take a different route? Go out to eat for a change?

Other. It's pretty much the same every week, but every morning is different. I work at home. Monday - sleep 'til 7:50 and start work at eight. Cleanup and eating doesn't happen until lunch. Tuesday - Up at 6:15, breakfast, shower, check emails, etc. Out the door at 7:30 to donate plasma. Wed - Up about 7:30, breakfast, cleanup, start work about 8:30. Thurs - repeat of Tuesday. Fri - repeat of Monday. Saturday - Sleep in 'til about 9:00 lounge around 'til about noon, unless we need to go somewhere. Sunday - Up about 8:00, putter around 'til about 9:00, shower, get dressed, off to Church.

Other. I do the same thing every weekday (wake up, shower, feed kids, feed wife and me, get dressed drive to work a bit too late) but I don't get to sleep in on weekends. The kids see to that. My son finds 4.15 a great time to wake up and play. I am not as enthusiastic at that time of day but try to explain that to someone 10 months old...

Wake up, fart, go back to sleep, wake up later , start coffee, smoke a cigarete, get coffee, eat donut, smoke another cigarette, eat another donut, drink more coffee, take a dump, eat another donut while reading paper with cigarette and coffee .... yep I'm healthy person.

On the weekends I eat two donuts each time instead of one. Preferably ones cooked in trans fat oil with the heavy yellow filling covered with chocolate.

Now I know you're all thinking the coalman must be fat but that's not the case, my metabolism is like supersonic. I could eat chicken wings and pizza with a six pack of beer for breakfast lunch and dinnner for year and not gain pound. :P

Weekdays get up at 6:18AM to watch stock market open on CNBC. Weekends try to sleep late until some telemarketer wakes me around 8:30AM.

Routines dulls the mind. But I'm expected to be at work around 8 AM weekdays, so there's not too much to play with Mon-Fri.

Mondays and Thursdays have developed into somewhat of a PITA. Son #1 is a rather serious (and pretty good) swimmer and he has practice at 5:30 a.m. So, it's up at 4:45 to get him there in time.

The rest of the weekdays are around 6ish.

Weekends vary. Son #2 plays football to fill in the gaps between baseball seasons, so there's a good bit going on in that arena on weekends. Sometimes I'll sleep in, but usually not.

I also find that early in the morning is when I get a little time to play with some audio and video. So, that's where you'll find me - in front of my A/V computer editing, authoring or whatever.

The problem is, I can't seem to burn the candle at both ends anymore...

I said yes, but I do try to take a different route to/from work everyday as this is good OpSec/ORM.

That being said, familiarity breeds contempt, and I find getting up to go to work every DAMN weekday morning to more contemptable each time I do it...

LMAO..you guys have it good! i wake up in pain as my kids jump on me , then i get them breakfast and try and get them to eat and not fool around and then make them lunch and send the off to school(except for my one son who is in kindergarden and does not go everyday.). since i'm a single dad , i clean ,shop , laundry etc. while they are at school. when they come home , its a fight to get homework done while the little one does all he can to bug his brother all while i'm trying to make supper.

the only peace i get...is when i'm sleeping
