Let's say you have a film clip that includes a blank space on a wall. You want to add some lettering that appears to be on the wall, but the problem is the image isn't perfectly still. What kind of function or app would have the lettering follow the movement of the wall exactly so it doesn't appear that the wall is moving under the lettering?

    Thanks

  2. You could use compositing software like After Effects. You would use the built in tracker or mocha to generate motion data and apply it to a new layer (your lettering), so it moves as the camera point of view moves, as if it was on the wall. The motion data can use perspective, rotation and planes so the overlayed image shrinks/grows/rotates near perfectly

Another method is to use a NLE like Premiere or Vegas, and move the layer and keyframe it manually. They do not have as many masking and effects options as After Effects, so the end result may not look as authentic, and it's more difficult to do using them , but it still can be done if you're patient
