    Hi!

    I want to convert avi file to mpg using tmpgenc but the mpg file is without sound. what can i do to fix it? thanx.

    well, it's xvid and have mpeg layer 3 audio format. I heard there some sort of codec or something for ac 3, am i worng?

    also after the encoding it says invalid pointer exception

    it will either have mp3 sound, or ac3 sound - not both.

    If you do a search on "xvid, ac3, sound problem" etc.. you'll find dozens of topics about this.

    Try opening your file in goldwave and Save as wav.
