I own a Sony PS3 which I use as my Blue Ray DVD player. I watch non-HD DVD's from this device as well. There have been several ocassions where I have converted an AVI file and the video (non HD) is fine but the audio breaks up as if it is skipping. I first thought it was just a bad AVI file but on several ocassions I have let someone else try to play the converted DVD on their DVD player and they seemed to have no problem with it. If I play the AVI file on my computer it plays fine.

I had read previously that if the AVI file was compacted that it will only take parts of the original file thus the breaks in the audio. I thought this was the issue but if it plays on another DVD player why is the audio skipping on my Sony PS3? Is this a PS3 issue, an issue with the AVI file or an issue with the way I converted it. I use Convert X to DVD. Thanks.

Should work, CXD's DVD output is rarely questioned, except maybe for picture quality.

You could try not using it's burn engine and instead use ImgBurn (Build mode) for your final disc. You could try lowering your burn speed and finally you could try another brand (or type, +R/-R) of discs.
