I am trying to copy audio / music from a few games and applications that I have, that output thru my sound card - actually the on-motherboard AC97 sound device. I am trying to use audacity, from which I am able to select a source to record from. However I am unable to "capture" the audio, as audacity records blank. It seems I can select the audio sources (line in, microphone, cd-audio, tv tuner) from the audio.
Question is, does anyone know a way in which I can do this, record sounds played thru the audio card? Again I dont have an audio card, just the on-board audio - Avance AC97 Audio. If there is anothe rprogram besides Audacity that can do this, and/or if I need to install an actual audio card to accomplish this, I will.
I also have an ATO 7500AIW video card, which "pipes" its audio out into the AC97 in, and I was able to test record audio from a TV show without any problem, as the audio sound records was then set to the line-in, so at least the audacity does work for "external" sources.
