  1. I have divx movie and I really need to make dvd, I dun know how to convert to DV so I could import to my Sony TRV340E via firewire from my pc and then copy it to my DVDR 890 via firewire too.

    I hav thought of using firewire straight to my DVR890 but my pc detect that as input unless if anyone hav tried a better alternative

    Would be better if I could just convert it to DV and copy straight from my pc by firewire to the DVDR890 input save me time to import it to my cam and back to the dvdr.

    As for now I REALLY need to know how to convert it to DV if anyone can help please tell me I already hav TMPGEnc and virtualdub.

  2. I read your post 3 times, and my brain hurts. What are you trying to do? Do you have a Divx file on your computer? I see multiple "Device XD23982HE connected via fire-wire" which means nothing to me, If you have a divx file, convert it w/ tmpgenc and then run it thru tmpgenc dvd author and burn it.
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

  3. Sorry, I hav movie in divx format and I need to make a DVD out of it, but I dun hav a DVD writer on my pc I just hav a standalone DVD recorder "Philip DVDR890" so I guess my only option is to use that "recorder' to make DVD.

  4. I hav search in the "convert" site and theres many explaination for DV to DVD, DV to SVCD, Dv to DIVX etc but none on DVD to DV, SVCD to DV or DIVX to DV so I really need to know how to encode/decode the DIVX movies that I hav on my hard disk to DV format so I can export using Ulead Videostudio to my SONY video camera.

  5. if you have windows xp you can use windows movie maker
    that comes with it.
    you open the divx file in movie maker, drag it to the timeline,
    and than hit "save to my computer".
    than you select dv as output and let it convert to dv.
    it takes a LONG time so do it overnight or something like that.
    after the conversion is over you can send it to the dv camera.

    i hope this helps.

  7. and dont forget to set movie maker on pal or ntsc.
    set it to match the format of your divx, otherwise your movie will look choppy

    here is how you do it :
    you select "tools" and than "options" and "advanced".
    choose ntsc or pal in here and you should be fine.
    the movie will be converted to dv in the right framerate.

    If you play the divx file on your computer then you can use the video out of your PC and feed that to your dvd recorder to make your dvd. Sounds a lot simpler to me, if your PC has video out.

  11. it just came to me that you might be using a fat32 system.
    are you using ntfs or fat32 system?
    if its fat32 than the filesize might be the cause of the problem.
    fat32 systems can understand files that are lower that 2 gig.
    and your file is 25 gig.

    but i might be wrong here...

    anybody had this problem befor?
