Virtual Dub

I have a problem in Virtual Dub, and hope someone can help me... When I try to open a Mpeg video file, it shows the following error: "MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error".

How can I fix this problem?

Use VirtualDub Mod. It can open mpeg files.

Actually I have had this a couple of times.
It usually only occurs in mpeg1 files - well that's all I've seen it in
And always things I have downloaded - I think it's a corrupt header or similar.

by all means try virtualdub Mod - it's much better than the original version but I don't think it will help in this problem.
You might to re-stream or repacketise your mpeg file - although be prepared for the fact it's damaged beyond repair

If it is an mpeg 1 you could try remuxing it in tmpgenc.

virtualdub-mpeg2(version1.5.3build16401) also works well with mpeg/mpeg2 but a real mpeg editor would be the better solution. Like maybe mpeg2vcr.
