When I convert a divx file onto a DVD with Chapters, I have the audio not matching the video. Now the original file does not have this problem. Any suggestions?

Once you have the file in the proper format, you can import it into Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 for authoring to disc.
The encoder in Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 was designed primarily with owners of DV and analog video camcorders in mind.
Another alternative would be to use your video editing program to split the audio of the DiVx file from the video.
Then import them separately into Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.
I've observed the program can successfully mux certain problem files in this manner.

I can suggest the FREE trial download for Ulead VideoStudio 7:
http://www.ulead.com/vs/trial.htm
You can download it for free and see if works.
If it does, great.
If it doesn't, then you can try another.

I thought they both used MainConcept.
What's the encoder got to do with it ? Looks like
a DE-coder problem. -
I just downloaded Ulead Media Studio Pro and I don't see anything that converts AVI to DVD. Please help.

When you go to save your edited work there is a setting to
determine what format to save it in . There is also Project settings
that does the same thing. You need to set it to
A DVD template.
You will not learn that program in 2 minutes, and people won't answer
a question on EACH and EVERY mouse click you make. So read the HELP
then you need to go find a DVDauthoring program to create the
DVD files
Then you need to burn it. -

3. With your DivX clip loaded into track Va, click FILE > CREATE > VIDEO FILE;
4. Give your new file a name;
5. Click the OPTIONS button and make certain your encode settings *match* the above project settings;
6. Click SAVE to create the new DVD-Ready file.
This file should have properties identical to those listed above.
This file should work in DVD MovieFactory 2.

This is what has worked for me with DivX. Use TMPEGnc to convert. Then author with Ulead MF2 and check the "do not convert compliant video" setting in the project settings.
Ulead Media Studio can do almost everthing. Just load the AVI video and then create a video file with what ever settings you want. I use Media Studio to edit and render all my DV to DVD MPEG2 video file. Then use Ulead MF2 to author with out converting. -

MPEG-4 still isn't mainstream where camcorders are concerned.
Moreover, the term DiVx can mean many different things and many odd video/audio properties, depending on whether the individual created the DiVx file with a hacked codec.
A video editing application can complete the MPEG-2 conversion task without distraction from other processes.
Many of today's consumer authoring applications, on the other hand, attempt simultaneous processes that often can't handle the odd source files.

Foo,
If they don't have MediaStudio but have MF2 then use TMPGEnc to convert DivX to MPEG2 and MF2 to Author.
If haveing Mediastudio and converting AVI then use Media Studio to render/convert. -

I completely fail to understand you , Jerry
What do simultaneous processes have to do with
whether or not a program can correctly decode a video ?

Walker,
I just noticed Ulead has posted a new FREE update to Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 at the following link:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp.htm
It might help resolve the issue you are having.
Hope this helps,
