I want to make a DVD where I can choose between english and german audio. Ofcourse I can make 2 separate movies, 1 with english and 1 with german audio. But I think that is a waist of space on the DVD.
I think it must be posible to burn the movie once and then have a coonection betwee it and 2 or even more audio files.
I am using DVDlab now for trying but it seems not to be possible with this program.
Any one out there with experience in this case? Hope you can help!!! My wife is german but I prefer english

Do you mean on a DVD you are authoring using your own video source? Or a DVD backup where there are already existing audio tracks?
There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Hi,
Check your DVD authoring software. You should be able to have your 'english' movie as the default for your DVD menus. Create another DVD menu button and you should be able to link your movie, without audio, to your German track. If you're on a MAC, this is easily done in DVD Studio Pro 2.
This way, you don't need both movies. Just use the same movie and link to different audio sources. This is also how 'director commentary' peices are done for DVDs.
Good luck,

I recorded a movie twice from Sat-Tv. Once in english and once in german.
I demuxed the movies, so now I have 1 movie file and two audio files with english and german.
Should be possible to burn these three file to a dvd and make a menu where I can select the dicired language audio. -
Ahhh, very interesting. Never saw anyone who'd done it that way before. I don't think the latest DVDLab release allows for that. But now that what you want is clear :c) I'm sure someone can recommend a program that can.
Like Jedi said above - but for PC? I would imagine it'd cost more than DVDLab though. :c*There's no place like 127.0.0.1

I think that a problem that will arise is the synchronization between the audio and video.
The two separate recordings obviously have different start times (at least by a few seconds). It is crucial to identify the beginning of each identically so that the two audio streams match in offsets.
If you still have the orignal multiplexed versions, then it should be possible to locate a specific frame and then go back an equal amount of frames to both versions and CUT there. After doing that, the two versions will have an identical start and audio will be in sync.
As pointed out, IFOEdit can be used to generate the DVD with both audio streams. The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
