  1. Hello,
any encoding software does exist for unix (not necessarly LINUX)
so that I can be able to convert a divx to dvd compliant ?
I have a very powerful XP1000 (alpha) with FreeBSD and it would be
just great to being able to use it to convert from divx to dvd (mpeg2 dvd compliant file).

    thanks
    oic

check out the trasnscode program url: http://www.theorie.physik.uni-goettingen.de/~ostreich/transcode/

which is a command line program. The gui for it would be kavi2svcd url:

I've been using these program to encode Stargate I dl and put them on cd. I've also used them to create generic mgp2 so that the the U-Lead movie factory will create an ISO which I can then mount them as an hardrive to check before using the Linux XCDROAST program to burn them.
