How to split a WMV File without re-encoding to another format in linux?

Hi,

I require assistance in trying to cut a wmv file from Xmins to Y mins, keeping it in its original WMV and encoded format in a similar ways like "Boilsofts" wmv splitter, which keeps bitrate etc same, but allows me to cut within the middle of the file.

After reading a few articles in the internet, i have a feelin this can be done with mencoder - however im unsure of exactly what i need to do, since i am not familiar wiht it, and no website cave any specific instuctions, but merely inferred that perhaps it was possible.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Have you read http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Mplayer#Crop.2Fsub-section_videos ? Replace avi with your wmv video. But I'm not sure if it's possible using wmv.
