My goal: To turn Vob files "back" to raw mpeg2 files.

1) I rip with DVD decrypter and get 4 vob togheter with IFO and BUP files. If I understand correctly the IFO and BUP aren't interesting in my case and I can ignore them.

2) Open a single vob in VobEdit and choose Demux. I tick MPEG stream and after processing I get an m2v file. Then i do it all over ticking AC-3 Audio stream to get an ac3 file.

Is this all I need, what about the Vob ID, cell Id and Subpicture streams options?

3) Open tmpgenc plus, choose MPEG tools and simple Multiplex. Also choosing [MPEG-2 program VBR] option. then use my m2v and ac3 file to multiplex and out comes an ordinary mpeg2.

Have I missed something vital in the VobEdit step or is this an okay way to do it?

I might add that the DVDs are recorded on a standalone Philips DVDR which I use to transfer old VHS tapes and sometimes record broadcasts from a sat reciever. There's as far as I know no Surrond in the broadcasts and some of the older tapes aren't even in stereo. Naturally there's no other frills or even macrovision. Just the IFO,BUP and VOBs.

I managed to convert the first VOB on the disc this way, but after demuxing the second Tmpgenc refuses to load the new m2v saying illegal video stream. Help please...
