Do any of the rippers / tools rip a DVD Main Movie to one large m2v and AC3 (with Delay)? I know that I would have to have an NTFS drive for files over 4 gig.
I would like to go this rout to try other back-up methods.
1.) Main Movie under 4.37 gigs. Would like to rip m2v / ac3 and let IFOEdit compile the movie. Would need less hard drive space and not need to correct VTS sectors, Layer Change, ect.
2.) Main movie over 4.37. Load the m2v into TMPGE and encode to fit. Use new movie and AC3 and author DVD as in step one.
You can get the DAR and FPS with BitRate Finder and chapters with Chapter extractor.
I have only been using Smart Ripper and it won't do this.

you can use DVD Decrypter. It has the ability to do such a thing.
if you use DVD Decrypter and the main movie is <4.3gb, you can rip the movie files AND the VIDEO_TS files then use IFOEdit to get the main movie by itself with new .IFO's. (rip ~15min, IFOEdit process ~12 min => about 30 min and ready to burn). this process is described in www.doom9.org guides.
if the movie is >4.3gb, I usually rip the .VOB's with DVD Decrypter then demux to .m2v and .ac3 with VOBEdit (after which time you can delete the original .VOB's if space is your concern)
Just out of curiosity, have you considered using DVD2SVCD. It's an all-in-one package (except you furnish the encoder) that you just adjust the settings and walk away. when it's done you will have a compliant .mpv stream and the associated .ac3 stream ready to burn. I believe it also has chapter extraction capabilities (via Chapter Xtracter). -
OK, got DVD Decrypter installed and its good. I was able to rip my movie to one mv2 file and had it create a chapter list in IFOEdit format. But, I can not get it to rip the AC3 into its own seperate file. Can it not do this?
I'm using the newest version.

It's been a while since I've done this but have you got a VOB file output with no file extension?
If my memory serves me right that is the ac3 file. If so just rename with an ac3 extension and play it to be sure -
Well, got it to work now.
From Main Movie Mode, Select STREAM and "enable streams".
You have to check the files you want and then select one file and set to DEMUX. Then you have to highlight the next file and select DEMUX. After you set each file to Demux, then hit start. All of your files will come out by themselves.
this is for 3.1.6 -
If all you want to do is backup the main movie it's much easier to just use IFOEdit (VOB Extras) or re-author with DVD Shrink.
Other wise it's:
1. Demux to m2v + ac3
2. Run chapterXtractor
3. Load m2v + ac3 + chapters in IFOEdit (or other authoring program)
4. Burn VIDEO_TS folder
