I recently bought the ND-1300A with firmware version 1.05, as well as some LEDA 1x DVD-R's. I reformatted a DVD to fit on a DVD-5. I tried to use Nero 6.0 to burn with, but it didn't recognize the drive. I opened RecordNow DX and it allowed me to select the drive, but when it began to initialize it aborted and ruined a blank DVD-R. I flashed the ND-1300A to give it firmware version 1.07. I then opened RecordNow DX and used test mode. It went through the process and then got errors while finalizing, so it aborted..?
Does anyone know what the problem might be?
I noticed that in RecordNow DX all my other drives were Host:X ID:0, while the ND-1300A was Host:2 ID:1 (the only drive with ID:1). But I'm not sure if this makes a difference.
Thanks for the help.

If everything is infinite then nothing is definite.

ID:1 just means it's the secondary (slave) drive on the chain.
At any rate, have you tried GOOD media? 1x media seldom work well on faster drives. Get a couple blank 2.4x from the local store, even if you have to pay full retail for them. Get Maxell or Verbatim, and if they burn properly then you know it was the media.
