TDK 440N/404N Problem...Pls Help!

Hi Noob problem.

Have a TDK 440N Dual Format Burner (FirmWare v1.08 ) am having probs burning anything to DVD-R's Nero 6.0.1.1 always gives error unable to finish writing disc-at-once. Have used the Pinnacle software that came with it and can burn with that although only at 2.4 spd but no other drive can read the disc without crashing. Am also having this prob with DVD+R's (but nero will burn these) one of them I have been able to read in my other DVD-Rom drive, the others it can read the file and directories but cannot access files?? Are there any other good apps for making data disks? just need to back up loads of files and make room on HDD. Thanks for any help you can offer! as im going absolutely insane!

Additional info = WinXP Pro, XP2800+ Barton, ASUS A7N8X Deluxe, 1Gb PC2700, GF4 Ti4200, 2x 60Gb Seagate Baracuda's, TDK 440N (UK Version 404N) + Old Toshiba DVD Rom.

Have you updated the firmware? I had problems until I updated

Yep, have the latest firmware (V1.08)
