I had DMA enabled for my DVD ROM and it ripped at 10-12X. Today it suddenly started ripping at 1.5X. I checked for DMA and the 'DMA if available' is selected, but it stays in PIO mode. It's hooked up to the Secondary IDE channel. DMA works fine on the Primary IDE and on the SCSI controller, but the reason the DVD is connected to the IDE is that it didn't even give me the option for 'DMA if available' when I plugged it in to the SCSI.
Any ideas on what I could check to figure out why DMA is not available?
Thanks.

Delete the Secondary IDE Channel entry from the Device Manager and then reboot, upon startup Windows should see it again and install the proper drivers for it.
