  1. I have a .mpg video clip, i think its mpg 1, but When I play it the aspect ratio is really messed up. Like the clip is too wide so the clip looks stretched horizontally a lot. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks

If it's mpeg2, (and maybe mpeg1 too) there's a value in the file header that tells if it's 16:9 or 4:3 (or some other format). If you get horisontally stretched images, then it sounds like a 4:3 mpeg, set to 16:9.
Someone told me pulldown.exe might let you change this without reencoding.

  4. We need a lot more info. Where did you get the MPEG from, is it MPEG1 or MPEG2, what's the resolution, what do you want to do with it (watch on PC or burn to x(S)VCD or DVD).

Remember a correctly encode 4:3 or 16:9 MPEG to be authored to DVD will not look right on your 1:1 DAR PC screen.
