    Ok I've had this drive, which came with my DELL, for about 8 months. Updated to the latest firmware. I still can't get it to burn @ x4

    Can anyone how has successfully burnt x4 with this drive share their expericnce and let me know what burning s/ware you used & with what media.

    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    have the same drive on a WinXP system and it burns TDK 4x DVD+R at 4x. I buy the TDK media at BestBuy when it's on sale.

    I've got mine to burn with 4x media - TDK, Verbatim and Maxell. Burning with Nero 5.5.10.20, takes about 14 minutes for a full video.

    I've burned at 4x using Movie Star 5. I also used Sonic DVD. I assumed it was burning at 4x, but I didn't take note of the speed. Both times I was using Phillips DVD+RW.

    I too was able to burn 4x DVD+R (TDK brand) with no problem using Nero 5.5.10.20.

    Ok thanks guys. I'll try Nero on my cheap x4 media first. If thats doesn't work I'll try me some TDKs....
