    A while back I made the suggestion to create a forum just for media, and it has been a smashing success. I'd like to suggest another new forum using something like the following title:

    Media labels and printers
    CD/DVD printers, labels & inserts

    It would cover the following topics:

    CD/DVD stick on labels
    CD/DVD printer hardware (for printing direct to disc)
    CD/DVD printable media (issues about PRINTING to the media, not burning to the media)
    CD case covers and inserts, DVD covers and inserts

    Basically anything to do with things you print for use with CD/DVD. A search of the forums will find LOADS of posts about these topics, but they are spread over at least 5 different forums. It would be great if we could consolidate all these posts in one forum.

    Regards,

    Savant

  2. You have to think from Baldricks point of view. He will have to assign new mods or overwork the old ones even more to cover all the forums.

    There isn't actually a lot concerning printing on media/labels and this can be relevant in other forums anyway (ie, printers are in computer section, what media is good for putting labels on can be asked in the media forum etc.)

    This site is really about video, not about how we catalog the discs. Baldrick tries to keep the site about video, unless there is a desperate need for a new forum (eg. the offtopic section was filled with posts about hardware, so Baldrick created a new forum about computers on a request from another user.)

    At the moment I don't see a big demand for info on printing labels. But if there is I'm sure there will end up being a forum for it.

    Savant = 1000
    leebo = Million
    Pixel + Baldrick = 1

    Baldrick wins by a landslide.

    Savant: In my book, Pixel called it right this time but keep trying.

    Actually it's not going to stretch the mods any further since people ALREADY post about this stuff in other forums. I did a quick search and 1100 results came back. People are definately labelling their media, and I think a forum for it would get the posts out of the other forums and into one place. Right now there are at least 5 forums where people post about media printing/label issues. I can't see how consolidating the messages into their own forum would be a bad idea.

    I have recently drawn the conclusion that the Sharpie is still the reigning champion.
