Ok.
Just to show the GF what I was doing last night, since I couldn't get Capture to work in Virtualdub, I captured some stuff in movie maker. Now. I don't like MS Movie Maker because VD won't open DV NTSC AVI files saved from MM.
My question is (and I did search, although I must have screwed up that search), what do I need to do to the AVI to get VD to open it?
VD and MM do not like each other.
MM doesn't like DIVX.
I hate MS.
The reason WHY I want to do this is easy...
I'm just getting started and want to see some results. I actually like MM very simple way of working with scenes; I like the wipes, etc. And right now, I can't find a decent video editor that I like that isn't AVID complicated, or under $900.

Yeah, bugster...
I have this; and it's installed; however, I still couldn't open the AVI captured in MM in VirtualDub.
It said the format was unsupported. -
In that case you need a suitable codec installed too. Try the Panasonic DV codec in the tools section.
