  1. Need some help fellas I keep getting constant blue screens on my current system. It had been restarting for "No Reason" ever since I installed XP. I then followed the instructions on here on how to prevent that. Well the system no longer restarts it just posts a Blue Screen. I don't understand why it is doing that. Two things that I have thought of would be heat issues or my PSU. My CPU only gets up to 124F which dosn't seem to hot to me but the idle temp is only 104F. I still don't think thats the issue but maybe. Now my PSU is 350W (rated I think its a cheap Taiwanesse PSU though) could it be possible that my PSU dosn't have enough power and if so can that cause my system to blue screen? Below are my system specs so you know whats in here

    P4 3.0c
    Intel D865PERL mobo
    2x512 Kingston DDR400 Ram
Radeon 9800 AIW Pro w/ that little power connector on it
2x120GB SATA Drives in RAID 0
    2 ATA Hard drives (1x100GB, 1x60GB)
    Pioneer AO5 DVD Burner

Also here is what Intel Active Monitor is saying about my power

    Volts(12v) 12.125
    Volts(5v) 5.104
    Volts(3.3v)
    CPU Core(1.55v) 1.518
    CPU I/O(1.5v) 1.458)

I noticed the system seems more likely to crash when I open Nero although I don't think its the software, because it seems to crash when the DVD Burner spins up the CD, I noticed the power drops a little bit on Intel Activie Monitor when I read a DVD/CD.

    Any suggestions would be fantastic!

  2. It may be a virus. What does the BSOD say?

I would assume you made no hardware changes before the XP install? Virus and PS problems are two possibilities. Did you do a clean install of XP or put it over the top of your old OS?. This can cause problems. I always partition and reformat before an XP install. Can you restore to an earlier date or is your install too new?. Another thing that doesn't hurt is to unplug your computer and reseat every connector on the MB and the chips and plugin boards. Also can you run in safe mode?. If you can run without the BSOD's, it may be a driver or software problem. I hate to say it, but I usually just back up my files and reformat the HD. May be a big hassle, but you can get real tired of the BSOD's (Blue Screen of Death for you Mac fans). Good luck.

Have you tried a complete re-install?

Sumpin's screwed up. DL the newest drivers for the other hardware, if you buy a component 3 months old, you can be sure the drivers are 9 months old, or more.

And a ton of stuff is not really compatible with XP, hell, a lot of companies admit they have no intention of re-writing drivers FOR XP. Throw that card away. We don't care.

You should not BSOD. Of course, you could "upgrade" to W2k.
