how to make data dvds?

i am new to this topic of dvdrws and stuff

i need to back up about 12gbs of stuff from my comp to dvdr

what tool i should use?

is there way to make dvd9 as data dvd i mean more than 4.7gb of stuff in one dvd heh ??

Your dvd burning software should do data dvds. If not I'd sugest Nero or RecordNow Max. You can only get about 4.38 GIGs on a DVDR. You can use compession (as in zip files) to sqeeze as much as posible.
