Weird action when starting movies

when i start to watch a movie on my computer , i click on the file and then all of a sudden my monitor start to click and flash and the resolution changes on the screen and i have to reset the monitor to fit the screen properly ,,, i've scanned for virus's and come up with none ,,, it only does it to certain movie files and nothing else.

anyone shed some light on why and how to stop this from happening??

Sounds like whatever software player you are using is trying to adjust the screen resolution for the movie it is playing and the monitor doesn't like being tinkered with.

I know with some players are machines even, when you want to play DVD, the resolution has to be set to 800x600.

You might be running into something like this.

that's the resolution that i have my system set to all the time ,, it's really weird , it just started happening with certain movies and not all.
