Im having a general problem with playing Mpegs. I have narrowed it down to being an audio problem.

I have tried playing them in PowerDVD XP and it generates an error and closes down. If I go to the configuration for PowerDVD and click the audio tab it generates the same error, HOWEVER I can click any other tab in config screen and get no errors.

I have also tried to verify that I had correct codecs installed using gspot, but gspot generates same general error, and its my belief it hangs trying to get audio codec info.

Any ideas?
