    Hiya
I converted a dvd9 to dvd5 using dvdshrink2.3 and compressed unimportant video to
"still pictures" however this video is accessed by pressing the "menu" button on my
Omni DVD Player remote. How could i stop the "menu" command from trying to access this video footage ? (which i dont want to view)

P.S. Ive tried several tests using ifoedit but no luck....(my last test kinda worked....i press the menu button and then my dvd player shats itself......but at least it didnt want to play the footage

You can use IFOEdit to map the button press to play something else, like the main movie (I've done this many times). You "simply" have to find out where in the menu it calls the TITLE, and remap this. Just identify the TITLE number of the "no play" video, and change it to your main menu.

For example, your main movie is TITLE 1 and the other stuff is TITLE 5. Just find all instances of "Jump to TITLE 5" and change to "Jump to TITLE 1".

The above is one way to create a DVD struture, but there are others, too. Your unwanted video may be in a TITLE SET all of its own. Then the commands to change to something like "Jump to VTS #1".

This is not really easy, because you have to somewhat understand the structure of the DVD, but with perseverence, it can be accomplished.

  3. Here is a good read on editing with IFOEdit.

    Look for "correcting menu" items.
