I got a series of avi files that I wanted to convert to mpg, but when I try to load them into TMPGEnc, it goes into the Judging Field Order popup and sits at 0% and never moves. In every other case where it's had to readjust field order, it has taken no more than 5-10 minutes at most to do so, but I've left the system running overnight and the next morning, it was still at 0%. TMPGEnc isn't locked up or anything, I can cancel it and keep working, it just refuses to move on.
Is there any way to correct this? Thanks.

You can try running the AVI through VirtualDub, check for bad frames. Other than that there just might be something wrong with the AVI file and it is corrupt in some fashion and TMPGENc cannot get past that.

HAve you tried using virtualdub to framesrv to tmpgenc, but have it skip the first few frames?
You could also try manually seting the field order instead of letting tmpgenc determine it."A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."
