I am trying to backup one of my french movies with subtitles. I used smartripper and got the vob files with that an i selected th english subtitles. But when i use dvd2avi it does not show the subs even if i select it as a select vob file. Same as in tmpgenc plus 2.5. Help, i love the movie and want to back it up. It would be ok if i could understand french but i dont.
I also got virtualdub but dont find it easy to use and i cant add the subs file without doing my own subs for the whole movie.
Help!!!

What format are the subtitles in right now (e.g. ,srt, .sub, etc)?
Hello. -
It's not enough to just tell smartripper to include them, you have to use something to actually process the subtitles. vobsub is a good choice if you want permanent subtitles.

I still having problems though. I got vobsob and selevted english under the vobsub configure. It does the indexing thing but dont seem to have gotton the sub file correctly. I have also used subtosup but to no avail. Please help. I looked at the guide about using vobsub but still to no avail.
The vob files area all ripped and have used dvd2avi to create a d2v file. Just cant get the subtitles sorted!
