    jeex -

[ please, take this in the most non-smartass way possible: ]

like what? I can't think of a single .nfo file I've ever seen with a stylized ascii art logo* that wasn't for a warez crew.

(*this is what he's asking for, correct?)

    Come to the rescue jeex?

I was into warez (a.b.w.i and nt) many moons ago and to this date, I have never seen a stylized .nfo associated with anything but warez. One reason you will not see nfo associated with anything else, is because MS has already used this file extension on OS related files, even though this was done after the creation of the nfo extension by the warez groups. No software company I know uses this extension to relay information to the end user.

Why bother! Just put the relevant information into a text file and save all the artwork for something else. Oh wait.... That wouldn't be haxors kewl to just use a text file.

Similar topic.... Hey lets all go get some ascii porn!

I can make it out, but only because I've seen it in non-ascii...

hey Village - do you know of any apps that can take an avi, turn it into motion ascii, then export that motion ascii as a video file of some sort?

that would be a neat effect to play around with...

I'm looking for something that's going to give me motion ascii, not just a text file...

it gives you a really long text file, after that, i guess you use java to animate it.

  18. you can play the movies. it has instuctions on the site on how to play. you actually play it with wordpad or notepad. i am gonna try to make a standalone player for it.

  19. The motion ascii format is not as effeciant as you might think (not as effeciant as I though). But it handles very well with .zip compression. The longer the movie, the better the compression in fact. Can you say 85%compressed? But for the quality you get, is it really worth it? I mean, the max res I have done is 120x36. Eh, its nothing more than an effect.

Does anyone know how to animate the text it with Java btw? Because I could use that method to make a program that would play the .txt .
