  1. I know the title sounds crazy, but here's what I need. I have a dvd disc that requires you to use the remote control or hard buttons to play each track. My in-car dvd players for the kids, the remotes no longer work and the only hard buttons are play and skip. There is no way to make selections.

So, can I rip the disc and remove this requirement to where the disc will just start playing when inserted and will just play through all the tracks?

Rip the original to an ISO, Run the ISO through DVD Shrink, reauthor mode, drag all the titles you want from the right side to the left side, save to an ISO then burn with ImgBurn.

No menu's, the disc will start playing when inserted and continue through everything you included then stop when it is done.

ImgBurn best to rip the ISO with?

  4. Yes, you can also use ImgBurn to put the DVD onto the hard drive in ISO format.

If it is a newer or commercial (pressed) dvd you will want to use something more current to rip it to your HDD to remove any copy protection.
Otherwise ImgBurn might choke on the ripping, and if not, odds are that shrink will choke trying to open the ISO/Image.
Or neither might not choke but then when you play it back it could be totally whacked.

I use DVDFab, you can use it for free for just ripping the entire disc, then open in Dvd Shrink, if you want to pay for it you can actually use DVDFab to rip the disc, bypass the copy protection and do the same thing that Dvd Shrink does.

Rip just the main movie and any extras you want with no menu's and have the disc just start and play through what you selected.

Got it ripped with no problems using ImgBurn. No copy protection on the disc. Now got the ISO opened up in DVDShrink. Working on it now.
