  1. Elby CloneDVD has a new version out 1.2.8.4 (Aug 28th). It has a compression meter which is one feature I believe some people were looking for. Not sure if this version has optimized it's compression method any.

    Whats new:

updated and integrated several old and new language files
removed all user prohibitions on Copy DVD Title
fixed IFO corruption bug (bad cell ids after single title extraction)
SHARE_READ support for image files to be written to DVD
AUDIO_TS folder generation for ISO/UDF images
fixed time measurement for the writing process (user dialog interactions won't count anymore)
made VOBSet 0 errors more user-friendly (shows file/mask missing now)
made WriteDVD 5 errors more user-friendly
extended automated main movie selection to all available angles
quality indicator (compress-o-meter) on title selection page
fixed: DVDManager 1 for most titles
changed time format to always show the 'minutes' component
set tcengine to "below normal" thread priority
    updated ElbyCDIO driver

  3. If you use this program for the first time, you'll need another program called AnyDVD if you plan on copying a copyrighted movie.

  12. The above posted 213. url works, but it should be the same as this actual url which is the one I use and works for me.

  13. You only need ANYDVD if you want to make a copy from the DVD-ROm drive.if you do not have ANYDVD you can just rip the DVD with smartripper. Also DVDregionfree works just like ANYDVD

  14. Actually, if you use dvdshrink, you wont even need anydvd to decrypt most dvd's. Further, dvdshrink is free. Just use it to shrink/transcode your title to your hard drive, than burn with clonedvd. Killer combination for outstanding copies.

anydvd also works with other programms dvd2one etc but is a lot slower with anything execpt clonedvd which it was intended for................

Not true, Anydvd works perfectly with dvd2one and doesn't slow it down.

  17. I believe someone post that AnyDVD increased the ripping speed of one of their other DVD to DVDr programs that has decryption in it;
maybe since it does it "on the fly". But other posters make a good point there's other freebies out there....experiment!

Also - does the quality slider DO anything, or is it just an indication of what quality CloneDVD has selected for you? I'm just curious.

Am currently testing v1.1.7.1 with mixed results. Copies from single layered discs came out fine but dual layered discs experienced a dropped frame or two. Maybe it's my processor and/or the ammount of RAM. I'll give the latest version a try. My tool of choice also is DVDCopy Xpress.

  20. I read someone's opinion on the 1.1.7.1 ver. that it does very well till you get to the 70% level, then you may prefer other applications.
