In the otherhand if I open it through the player it works fine that if it hasent change to an EXE file previously. I wonder if any one can helpme, and wanted to know if I could recover those files changed to EXE

    LOL! Thats bad.
Does the file size change at all?
If you rename it back to .mpg is it ok?
Do you have a virus scanner?
Do you have any friends that think its funny to put hoax programs on your computer?

nfl2k2, you can rename any file to whatever extension you want through DOS. If you rename an .avi to .exe then it still remains an .avi in the file sense (its just called .exe instead), its just that when you go to open it , windoze thinks its an executable and produces an error. Thats all extensions are for, so that windows knows which program to open them with, thats all.

You could try reformating the harddrive..but thats an headache if you have an cable modem and need the cable guy to reinstall your cable modem..but just in case you want to reformat you can find your computer cds that came with your computer put the recovery disk1 in restart your computer the program pops up automatically. tell it to reformat and then your finished..If you don't have recovery disks it makes it alot harder

  8. Try here and proceed with caution that you don't mess up system files.

Thought that it may have been a virus. The files -> .exe's gave it away a bit.
thestos, could you be a bit more specific? what files do you have to delete?
To use the program you got.
Copy the program you downloaded into C:\
Then open a DOS prompt (In Win98: Start>Program Files>MS DOS Prompt)and type the following:
    cd\
    Then press enter.
    Now type:
    fix_blebla.com
    Press enter.
    It should now run.

    nfl2k2,
...you wouldnt really want to - you're right. Unless to hide files or something like that.
