I am currently looking for a new dvd player. I just bought a 48" WS Mitsubishi HDTV, so I am looking for a dvd player that can show me what this TV can do. I also need this to play dvd+/-R, SVCD, etc.
My TV has all kinds of inputs such as DVI, RS232, and of course component. I'm assuming that DVI will give the best picture.. am I correct on this? If so, I would also prefer the dvd player to have this as an option for output. I know that either way I go right now, I'm only going to get 480i/p for dvds and not true 720p/1080i.
So does a beast like this exist? A good quality dvd player that has high def output and plays all/most types of recorded cds/dvds?
Any help would be great.

Just make sure you get a progressive scan dvd player as well. I think most of them are these days. Happy hunting
